NBCUniversal Upfront 2025 / Radio City
This years design reinforced 2 primary ideas — the strength and stability of NBCUniversal as a media powerhouse, and a dynamic new branding aethestic that featured glassy prismatic feather shapes that refracted a spectrum of light through their edges.
Strength: Anchoring the design was a colossal monolith - 70’ wide and over 16’ tall - that raised up from stage, creating a foundation from which the show could grow and emerge. Using the power of the famed Radio City lifts, the monolith raised and lowered throughout the show, revealing an LED wall and lighting on it’s face. This was used in conjunction with a flown hero screen and other automated scenic elements, which allowed us to created a sense of verticality on stage that was reminisicent of the soaring 30 Rockefeller Center.
Spectrum of light: Flanking the LED surfaces throughout the set, I designed in hundreds of Impression X4 Bars that allowed the video and lighting teams to push the imagery from the LED walls out into the room, creating a prismatic effect that blended the virtual and physical spaces.
